New therapy aims to ease depression and anxiety in HIV patients

Summary

This study tests a culturally adapted form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for people living with HIV who also have depression and anxiety. Fifty adults in Peshawar, Pakistan will either receive six therapy sessions from trained health workers or standard care. The main goal is to see if this approach is practical and helpful, with a focus on reducing emotional distress.
