NCT ID NCT06204003
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether high doses of a natural cannabis extract (CBD) are safe for healthy athletes who play contact sports like football or rugby. Thirty-four male athletes took a placebo for two weeks, then increasing doses of CBD for several weeks. Researchers monitored for side effects, measured CBD levels in the blood, and checked brain and heart function. The goal was to see if CBD could be used safely for pain and possible brain protection after a concussion.
