Could CBD ease pain and cravings for people fighting opioid addiction?

Summary

This study tests whether cannabidiol (CBD) is safe and can help reduce pain and opioid cravings in 34 adults who are already on medication (methadone or buprenorphine) for opioid use disorder and also have chronic pain. Participants will receive CBD or a placebo in random order over four sessions, with researchers monitoring side effects, pain sensitivity, and drug cravings. The goal is to see if CBD can be a helpful addition to existing treatments.
