CBD tested as potential aid for opioid addiction and pain

NCT ID NCT05076370

Summary

This small, early study from Yale University tested whether the compound CBD (cannabidiol) could be safely added to treatment for people struggling with both opioid addiction and long-term pain. Seven participants who were already on stable medication for their addiction received either CBD or a placebo to see if it affected their pain levels and cravings. The main goal was to check for safety and side effects, not to prove it works as a treatment.
