Summary
This study is testing whether cannabidiol (CBD), a compound from cannabis, can help people going through alcohol withdrawal. Adults with moderate-to-severe alcohol use disorder will stay in a hospital research unit for 5 days while they stop drinking. They will receive either CBD or a placebo, in addition to standard care, to see if CBD reduces withdrawal symptoms, improves sleep, and lessens alcohol cravings.
