CBD meets diabetes meds: could this combo help control weight and blood sugar?

NCT ID NCT06648031

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether a special form of cannabidiol (CBD) combined with common diabetes drugs (GLP-1 agonists) is safe and helps control blood sugar and weight in overweight or obese adults with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. About 148 participants took either CBD alone, the diabetes drug alone, or both together. The main goal was to check for side effects, while also seeing if the combination improved blood sugar and weight more than either treatment alone.
