New scanner aims to sharpen cancer radiation targeting
NCT ID NCT06576908
First seen May 07, 2026 ยท Last updated May 07, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new type of CT scanner (HyperSight) that takes pictures while a person is lying on the radiation treatment couch. The goal was to see if these images are clearer than standard scans, which could help doctors aim radiation more precisely. 46 adults with various cancers (head/neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis) participated. The study did not involve any new treatment, only comparing image quality.
