New drug cocktail targets genetic weakness in rare cancer
NCT ID NCT05774899
First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests two different oral drug combinations in people with a rare type of salivary gland cancer called adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) that has a specific genetic change (NOTCH mutation). The goal is to see if combining a NOTCH-blocking drug (CB-103) with either abemaciclib or lenvatinib can slow tumor growth and improve survival. The trial enrolls adults with advanced or recurrent ACC that cannot be cured by surgery.
What this could mean

CB-103, abemaciclib, lenvatinib
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for people with a rare, hard-to-treat cancer that has a specific genetic mutation.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with a small number of participants, so the combinations may not prove effective or may cause significant side effects.
