New solution could stop deadly ICU infections
NCT ID NCT07366372
Summary
This study tested whether a special antiseptic solution called taurolidine could prevent infections in central venous catheters used in ICU patients. Researchers enrolled 120 adult ICU patients who needed these catheters to see if the solution reduced bacterial growth and bloodstream infections. The goal was to find a safe way to prevent these serious complications that can extend hospital stays and increase mortality.
