New lens aims to sharpen sight for the very nearsighted
NCT ID NCT07168109
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests if a special lens placed during cataract surgery can help people with high myopia (severe nearsightedness) see better at all distances without glasses. About 66 adults will get the lens in both eyes, with one eye set for near vision and the other for far. Researchers will check vision, reading, and glare over a year to see if this approach works better than standard methods.
