NCT ID NCT05477901

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving extra money to mothers in Brazil can help protect their children's brain development and mental health. About 450 families already receiving a small cash benefit will be randomly assigned to get either a high ($40/month) or low ($2/month) extra payment for two years. Researchers will measure children's stress levels, inflammation, brain scans, and emotional well-being to see if more money makes a difference.
