Neck artery texture may reveal hidden heart risks in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT07373938

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether the texture of the carotid artery wall, seen on an ultrasound, can help predict the risk of heart problems in people with type 2 diabetes. Researchers will compare 80 adults with diabetes to healthy controls, measuring artery thickness and texture patterns. The goal is to find a better way to identify who needs more preventive care, without using invasive tests.
