First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at 139 patients with incurable cancer and their main caregivers to understand the emotional and practical burdens when planning a return home for end-of-life care. Researchers used surveys to measure how both patients and caregivers perceived the caregiver's burden, and looked for factors that might make going home easier or harder. The goal was to learn what influences successful home discharge for dying patients.
