Caregiver attitudes may influence schizophrenia drug compliance
NCT ID NCT03471013
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the beliefs of caregivers (family or friends who help care for someone) about antipsychotic medication are linked to how well patients with schizophrenia take their medicine. About 50 patients and their main caregivers were asked to fill out questionnaires. The goal was to understand if negative caregiver beliefs lead to worse medication adherence, which is a major cause of relapse. The study was observational and did not test any new treatment.
