New catheter valve offers hope for High-Risk heart patients

NCT ID NCT03339115

Summary

This study is testing the safety and performance of a new artificial heart valve, called the Cardiovalve, for people with a severely leaking mitral valve. The valve is designed to be delivered through a catheter in the leg vein, avoiding open-heart surgery. It is being tested in 30 patients who are at high risk for traditional surgery, with doctors tracking their health and valve function for two years.
