Breathe easy: simple heart exercise may calm MRI nerves
NCT ID NCT05893121
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests if a single session of cardiac coherence—a guided breathing technique—can lower anxiety in patients before an MRI. Sixty adults with high MRI-related anxiety will be split into two groups: one does the breathing exercise, the other receives standard care. Researchers will measure anxiety levels and scan quality to see if this simple, drug-free approach makes the exam smoother.
