New approach could save more cardiac arrest survivors from premature treatment withdrawal

NCT ID NCT03261089

Summary

This study aims to improve how doctors predict brain recovery in unconscious patients who survive cardiac arrest. Researchers will collect detailed information from 600 patients using standard tests at specific times to create a better prediction model. The goal is to reduce bias where early pessimistic predictions might lead to withdrawing life support too soon, potentially allowing more time for recovery.
