First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests if carbocisteine, a drug already used for coughs, can safely reduce fat buildup in the liver for people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). About 46 adults with fatty liver will take the drug, and doctors will measure changes using ultrasound. The goal is to find a new treatment option for this common liver condition.
