First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares a carbohydrate-reduced, high-protein diet to a standard diabetes diet in 100 adults with type 2 diabetes and overweight. Over 12 months, researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, weight, and fat in the liver and pancreas. The goal is to see if the low-carb diet improves metabolic health and reduces the need for diabetes medications.
