Hope for kids with tough brain cancers: new 'Living Drug' trial begins

NCT ID NCT04510051

Summary

This is a first-in-human safety study for children whose aggressive brain tumors have come back or stopped responding to standard treatments. Doctors are testing a new type of treatment where a child's own immune cells are collected, genetically reprogrammed in a lab to hunt for and attack their specific brain tumor cells, and then given back to them. The main goal is to find the safest dose and understand the side effects of this personalized cell therapy.
