Engineered immune cells take on tough lymphoma in early trial
NCT ID NCT05757700
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests a new type of CAR T-cell therapy for adults with large B-cell lymphoma that has come back or not responded to treatment. The therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to better recognize and attack cancer cells. The main goals are to find a safe dose and see if the treatment can shrink tumors.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
genetically modified T cells (CAR T cells) targeting CD19
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for patients with hard-to-treat B-cell lymphoma that has not responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 30 participants, so safety and dosing are still being determined. The therapy may cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome or may not shrink tumors effectively.
