New hope for kids with tough cancers: testing a powerful immune cell combo

NCT ID NCT07222735

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a new combination treatment for children and young adults (up to age 21) whose bone or soft tissue cancers (sarcomas) have come back or haven't responded to standard treatments. The approach combines a short, intense course of radiation with an infusion of the patient's own genetically modified immune cells, called CAR T-cells, designed to target the cancer. The main goal is to see if this combination is safe and to check if the engineered cells travel to and attack the tumors.
