Could a gut bacteria infection signal hidden cancer? new study uses camera pill to find out

NCT ID NCT06919068

Summary

This study aims to see how common colon cancer or pre-cancerous growths are in adults who were recently hospitalized with a serious blood infection caused by gut bacteria. Researchers will offer participants a swallowable camera capsule that takes pictures as it travels through the intestines, about 4-8 weeks after they leave the hospital. The goal is to improve early detection by testing this non-invasive screening method in a specific high-risk group.
