10-minute swallow test could revolutionize early detection of esophageal condition

NCT ID NCT04561791

Summary

This study is testing whether a small, swallowable capsule attached to a thin string can effectively screen for Barrett's esophagus in primary care clinics. The capsule takes microscopic pictures of the esophagus during a 10-minute procedure without sedation. Researchers want to see if this simple method works well for early detection and how common Barrett's esophagus is among regular primary care patients.
