Pepper patch takes on antidepressant in battle against chemo nerve pain

NCT ID NCT05840562

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests if a capsaicin patch (made from chili peppers) works better than the drug duloxetine for nerve pain caused by chemotherapy. About 274 adults with ongoing pain in their hands and feet will receive either a one-time patch or daily pills for 5 weeks. The goal is to see if the patch can reduce pain by at least 30% with fewer side effects.
