First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a capsaicin 8% patch (made from chili pepper extract) can reduce chronic nerve pain in teenagers aged 12 to 17 who have had pain for over 3 months after surgery or an injury. Half of the 46 participants will get the real patch, and the other half will get a placebo dressing. The patch is applied at the start and again after 3 months if needed, and pain levels are tracked for 4 months.
