Cannabis vs. opioids: emergency room trial aims to cut painkiller use
NCT ID NCT04816994
Summary
This study is testing whether cannabis oil drops can help people with sudden, severe nerve pain in their back or from kidney stones. Researchers want to see if the oil reduces pain and how much opioid pain medication patients need while in the hospital. About 200 patients in the emergency room will receive either cannabis oil or a placebo oil, without knowing which one, and be monitored for 24 hours.
