Cannabis pills could be key to fighting opioid relapse

NCT ID NCT07148206

Summary

This study is testing whether two FDA-approved cannabis-based medications, dronabinol (THC) and Epidiolex (CBD), can help people with opioid addiction stay in treatment and reduce their opioid use. It focuses on people who have recently started buprenorphine, a standard addiction medicine, but are still struggling with withdrawal symptoms or cravings. The goal is to see if adding these pills for 8 weeks improves treatment success and safety.
