Could a cannabis pill calm Alzheimer's agitation?

NCT ID NCT05543681

Summary

This study is testing whether a new oral medication called IGC-AD1, which contains THC (the main active compound in cannabis) and melatonin, can safely reduce agitation in people with Alzheimer's disease. It will involve about 164 participants aged 60 and older who have significant, persistent agitation related to their dementia. The goal is to see if this treatment improves agitation symptoms over a 42-day period compared to a placebo.
