NCT ID NCT05655494
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether a website with a virtual community health educator can help Black and Hispanic cancer patients in Florida learn about and sign up for clinical trials. About 350 adults will be randomly assigned to either a standard information portal or one with a virtual coach. The goal is to see if the virtual coach increases the number of people who express interest in joining a trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- virtual community health educator (vCHE) and web-based educational portal
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this approach could increase participation of underrepresented groups in cancer clinical trials, making future treatments more inclusive.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study (350 people) testing a behavioral tool, not a treatment. It may not lead to higher referral rates or work outside Florida.
