Scientists hunt clues in blood to solve mystery of dangerous drug reactions

NCT ID NCT02154022

Summary

This study aims to understand why some cancer patients experience severe or unexpected side effects from their medications. Researchers will collect blood samples from up to 100 patients already enrolled in other NIH cancer trials who are having these bad reactions. By measuring drug levels in the blood, they hope to learn if high concentrations are the cause and how a person's unique biology affects their response to treatment.
