Scientists test Four-Drug cocktail in bid to halt advanced cancers

NCT ID NCT01087554

Summary

This early-stage trial aims to find the safest, most effective doses of four different drug combinations for patients with advanced cancer that hasn't responded to standard treatments. Researchers are testing vorinostat paired with one of three other drugs (sirolimus, everolimus, or temsirolimus) to see if these combinations can slow or stop cancer growth. The study will enroll up to 249 patients to determine the highest tolerable doses and monitor how the cancers respond.
