Summary
This study is testing a training program called CASCADE for family members who help make medical decisions for a loved one with newly diagnosed advanced cancer. The program uses nurse coaches to teach communication and decision-support skills over phone calls. Researchers want to find out which parts of the training work best to reduce stress and help patients make care choices that fit their values.
