First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether canakinumab, a drug that blocks inflammation, can lower certain proteins linked to cancer growth in former smokers at high risk. About 41 participants will provide cheek, nose, and blood samples before and after treatment. The goal is to see if the drug changes inflammation markers, not to cure or treat cancer directly.
