Can a simple injection stop filler bruising? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06665594
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding tranexamic acid (TXA) to standard hyaluronic acid facial filler can reduce bruising, swelling, and pain. Forty adults will receive TXA on one side of their face and a placebo on the other, then report their bruising intensity and duration. The goal is to see if TXA makes recovery smoother after cosmetic injections.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
tranexamic acid (TXA)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple way to reduce bruising and discomfort after cosmetic filler injections.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study (40 people) looking at short-term cosmetic outcomes. Results may not apply to everyone, and TXA carries rare risks like blood clots.
