Summary
This study explores whether seeing a picture of a supportive person can help people with social anxiety unlearn fear more effectively. Researchers will compare the fear response of 100 participants (50 with social anxiety, 50 healthy) after pairing threatening cues with images of a loved one versus a stranger. The goal is to see if social support can enhance fear extinction, a key process in overcoming anxiety.
