Major trial aims to spare thousands from breast cancer radiotherapy
NCT ID NCT06445738
Summary
This study is testing a new approach to see if many women with early breast cancer can safely skip radiotherapy after surgery. Researchers will use a special MRI scan and detailed tissue analysis to identify patients with a very low risk of the cancer returning. If successful, this could allow many patients to avoid the side effects, costs, and inconvenience of radiotherapy without compromising their safety.
