First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether smokers who want to cut back can switch to a standardized research e-cigarette (SREC) and reduce their use of regular cigarettes over 12 weeks. 63 daily smokers aged 21+ who smoked at least 3 cigarettes a day for a year participated. Researchers tracked how many cigarettes they smoked, if they quit entirely, and any changes in health and satisfaction.
