Experimental Triple-Drug cocktail targets Hard-to-Treat breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07161791
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This early-phase study will test a combination of three drugs—camrelizumab (an immunotherapy), pirfenidone (an anti-fibrotic drug), and standard chemotherapy—in 12 women with advanced triple-negative breast cancer that has already been treated with immunotherapy. The goal is to see if the combination can shrink tumors or control the disease. The trial is not yet recruiting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
camrelizumab (immune therapy), pirfenidone (anti-fibrotic drug), and chemotherapy (paclitaxel or capecitabine)
What this could lead to
If it works, this combination could offer a new treatment option for advanced triple-negative breast cancer that has stopped responding to initial therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-phase trial with only 12 people, so results may not apply broadly. The combination may cause significant side effects or fail to improve outcomes.
