Swallow a camera instead of a colonoscopy? new study tests simpler colon screening

NCT ID NCT06475560

Summary

This study is testing a new way to check the colon using a pill-sized camera that patients swallow. The goal is to see if this method can be a good first step for adults with symptoms, reducing the need for more invasive and uncomfortable colonoscopies. Researchers will compare the pill camera to standard colonoscopies to see if it finds problems just as well and is more cost-effective.
