Blood test score may predict sepsis outcomes in ICU
NCT ID NCT07285499
First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at 276 adults with sepsis in the intensive care unit to see if a score called the CALLY index could predict who might die within 30 days. The CALLY index uses routine blood test results to measure inflammation, nutrition, and immune health. Researchers found that lower CALLY scores were linked to higher death rates and more kidney problems. This was an observational study that did not involve any new treatments or procedures.
