First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized caffeine schedule helps people stay alert and think clearly during 62 hours of total sleep deprivation better than standard caffeine dosing. About 180 healthy adults aged 18-39 will wear activity monitors, do reaction-time tests at home and in the lab, and have their sleep tracked. The goal is to find a way to reduce side effects and improve recovery sleep after extreme sleep loss.
