Can a missing protein help fix dangerous lows in diabetes?

NCT ID NCT06470295

Summary

This study aims to understand if a natural protein called C-peptide can help the liver make more sugar during episodes of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Researchers will compare people with type 1 diabetes to healthy volunteers to see if giving C-peptide during a controlled low blood sugar event improves the body's natural recovery response. The goal is to gather knowledge that could inform future treatments for preventing severe hypoglycemia.
