BURN study: buffering lidocaine may ease prostate biopsy pain

Summary

This study tested if using buffered lidocaine (a less acidic numbing medicine) reduces pain during prostate biopsy. 350 men scheduled for a biopsy rated their pain on a scale. The goal was to see if this simple change makes the procedure more comfortable.
