Summary
This trial tests whether adding a lateral soft tissue release to standard chevron bunion surgery improves the correction of the big toe's angle and reduces the chance of the bunion returning. About 200 adults with mild to moderate bunions will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard surgery or the surgery with the extra release. Researchers will compare x-ray measurements and patient-reported outcomes over 12 months to see if the added step helps without increasing complications.
