Cheek fat vs. palate tissue: which graft better protects dental implants in jawbone loss patients?

NCT ID NCT06968780

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests two surgical techniques—using a small piece of cheek fat or a rotated piece of palate tissue—to boost gum thickness and prevent implant exposure around zygomatic implants. Eight adults with severe upper jaw bone loss who need these special implants will be randomly assigned to one graft method. The goal is to see which approach leads to fewer gum problems and better long-term implant success.
