New drug combo takes on Hard-to-Treat cancers

NCT ID NCT07086768

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests an experimental drug called BSI-082, alone or combined with a standard cancer drug (T-DXd), in 57 adults with advanced or metastatic solid tumors that have not responded to other treatments. The study has two parts: first, finding the safest dose of BSI-082 alone; second, testing it with T-DXd. The main goal is to check safety and side effects, not yet to prove the drug works.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

BSI-082 (an experimental drug) and trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd, a standard cancer drug)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors that have stopped responding to standard therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a very early (Phase 1) trial with only 57 participants, so the drug may not prove effective or may have unexpected side effects. The main goal is safety, not efficacy.
