Scientists dig deep to unlock mystery of common lung treatment

NCT ID NCT05731427

Summary

This study aims to understand how and why long-term, low-dose antibiotic treatment helps some people with bronchiectasis, a chronic lung disease. Researchers will follow 150 adult patients for two years, collecting sputum, stool, and blood samples to analyze their microbes and body chemistry. The goal is to learn what factors make the disease worse and how the antibiotics work, which could lead to better future treatments.
