Heated airway treatment tested for tough asthma cases
NCT ID NCT07292805
Summary
This study is testing a medical procedure called bronchial thermoplasty for adults with severe asthma that isn't controlled by standard medications, including newer biologic drugs. The procedure uses gentle heat on the airways during a bronchoscopy, aiming to reduce the frequency of serious asthma attacks and improve quality of life. Researchers will compare the procedure plus standard care against standard care alone in 90 participants over a year.
