NCT ID NCT07254923

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests two brief, non-drug mental techniques—body-scan mindfulness and guided imagery—to see if they can quickly reduce acute pain in adults staying in short-stay hospital wards or emergency observation units in Boyacá, Colombia. About 160 participants will be randomly assigned to one of these two techniques or a short educational session, all lasting under 20 minutes. Pain levels are measured right before and after the session, and usual medical care continues. The goal is to find simple, drug-free ways to help manage pain during a hospital stay.
